Second time here- great family getaway and better than the last time
5/5 • 03/04/2025Pros- The GOs and Dominican staff were excellent. The new restaurant overlooking the ocean is so much nicer than the old one (which burned down last fall and felt like a cafeteria). Food is much better than last time. Would have been nicer to have some more organized afternoon sports / competitive activities but the morning sports were excellent. Kids had a great time and the new waterpark is fantastic. Lots of other kids for them to play with and good organized activities in a safe environment. The scuba and kitesurfing programs were excellent (Manon the kitesurfing instructor is particularly good). Pickleball and Tennis were also standout programs. Photographers were great. Grounds were immaculate. Staff incredibly responsive and helpful. Less crowded than last time, which really made it feel more personal and fun.
Cons- The room was small, cramped and spartan. I know ClubMed wants you out of your room and interacting but it felt a bit like business hotel (and the beds were not comfortable). There is constant construction (see above re fire) and 10hrs a day of nearby jackhammering can sometimes be distracting. Also the place seems a bit short-staffed.
